We are progressing our campaign to invite nurses originally from overseas to refer fellow nurses in their countries to Colten Care should they be thinking of coming to the UK.
Under the scheme, we, provide certificates of sponsorship and initially employ the overseas nurses as Senior Care Leads with a view to supporting their onward career development through NMC registration and beyond.
RGN Subi Sam, who works at our Lymington dementia care home Linden House, referred Kavja Rajn, a fellow qualified nurse from India.
Speaking after a month with us, Kavja said: “I am proud to be part of Colten Care. This has been a wonderful experience for me. From the beginning everyone has been welcoming and friendly and that has given me so much confidence. I had very helpful training straight away to understand my responsibilities. I certainly want to go on to become a registered nurse in the UK.”
Also at Linden House, Senior Nurse Joly Poulose has just put forward another contact from India who we are preparing to interview. Altogether, we are working through a list of around 40 potential leads our team have suggested.
Linden House Home Manager Lorraine Bell said: “The referral scheme is an astute response to the recruitment challenges which continue to impact the whole care sector. It is really helping us to strengthen our workforce with great quality people.”
